Eugene encourages participation of low- and moderate-income persons throughout the community. There are several opportunities for community engagement and collaboration for community members in the Housing and Community Development Programs.
Housing Policy Board
The intergovernmental Housing Policy Board (HPB) acts as a forum for public input into the community issues related to affordable housing. It reviews low-income housing issues and makes policy, funding, and other recommendations regarding affordable housing to Eugene and Lane County governments. The mission of the HPB is to increase the availability of decent, affordable housing for low and very low income families and individuals in Lane County. The HPB has Task Teams made up of HPB and community members to work on affordable housing issues. The HPB meetings and Task Teams meetings are open to the public.
Affordable Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee
The Affordable Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee advises City of Eugene Staff on the development of goals and programs related to the use of Affordable Housing Trust Fund resources. The committee also advises on the allocation of resources and review of specific project proposals to be supported by the Affordable Housing Trust Fund resources. The Affordable Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public.
Community Development Block Grant - Advisory Committee
The City of Eugene receives funds from the U.S. Department of Housing (HUD). The Community Development Block Grant - Advisory Committee (CDBG-AC) advises the Planning & Development Department staff on the proposed use of CDBG funds. The CDBG-AC meetings are open to the public.
HOME Consortium Governing Board
The Eugene-Springfield Consortium receives HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Eugene allocates HOME funds to assist developers in the construction of new units and acquisition of existing units. The HOME Consortium meetings are open to the public.
