The 2022 survey was conducted to help City leadership determine how best to support the community and the organization’s goals and to help with future budget decision making. The survey also helped to inform the strategic goals and actions in the City's Strategic Plan.
The City worked with ETC Institute (ETC), a survey research firm, to gather statistically valid and representative input from City of Eugene residents on a wide variety of issues and topics.
In August 2022, ETC Institute (ETC) mailed surveys to a random, representative sample of households in Eugene, resulting in a statistically valid set of survey responses and a demographic make-up which aligns with the community’s demographics. In addition to the mail-in option, people were also given the option to take the ETC survey online. In total, ETC received 958 completed survey responses.
In addition to ETC’s statistically valid sample, the City administered a similar survey, in both English and Spanish, through the Engage Eugene web platform, which received 815 combined responses.
